DRIVE BY WIRE

The Dutch steamy rockers of Drive By Wire just finished recording and mixing their highly anticipated 4th album „Spellbound”, offering you an intriguing and unique mixture of fuzz-laiden heavy rock grooves accompanied by the trippy, hazy vocals of energetic front woman Simone Holsbeek. Simone and  lead-guitarist Alwin Wubben founded the band in 2006, writing songs in their basement for the debut album that immediately grabbed the attention of international press. Later on they met  bass player Marcel Zerb and drummer Jerome Miedendorp de Bie, essential ingredients to form the super-glue rock collective they are today….

 

Now it’s time to cast a formidable spell by unleashing  „Spellbound”  upon the world ( release date  23th of Februari 2018). Since Drive By wire has a dedicated international following Spellbound will be available worldwide on 3 different formats: CD, Vinyl (deluxe) and digital. (CD: Argonauta Records, Vinyl: Minstrel Music, Digital: Drive By Wire).

 

Drive By Wire chose to work with producer Guido Aalbers ( QOTSA, The Gathering, Muse, Masters of Reality) for this record because of his ability to capture and convey the thick, organic sound and exhilarating vigor that the band’s live performances are so well known for.

 

A trip through a desolate desert landscape, the swampy river delta, home to the band, 70′s hardrock and psychedelica. Drive By Wire manages to distill these inspirations into a warm organic sound with the urgency of 90′s grunge (Soundgarden), the contagious riff-driven groove of Queens Of The Stone Age, and delicious hypnotic heavy-ness such as Black Sabbath.

 

They have been touring through Europe for the last 10 years (Germany, England, France, Greece, Swiss, Belgium, and almost all clubs in The Netherlands)  they’ve also did support shows for Kyuss, Blues Pills, Mudhoney, God Is An Astronaut and played loads of festivals (Eurosonic, Generatorfest, Zwarte Cross and Bevrijdingsfestival).
